Common Questions About Payroll Management

Pay frequency is your choice — weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly are all common in Canada. Most of our small business clients use bi-weekly. We process payroll on whatever schedule works best for your business and employees.
For most small businesses (regular remitters), payroll remittances are due by the 15th of the month following the pay period. We track your remitter status and file on the correct schedule every time.
An ROE is required whenever an employee's insurable earnings are interrupted — termination, layoff, leave of absence, or reduced hours. It must be issued within 5 calendar days (paper ROE) or by the second Friday after the interruption (electronic).
Yes. We calculate Ontario vacation pay (minimum 4% for most employees, 6% after 5 years of service) correctly — whether paid each cheque or accrued. We also handle overtime in accordance with the Ontario Employment Standards Act.
T4 slips must be distributed to employees and filed with the CRA by the last day of February for the prior calendar year. We prepare all T4 slips and the T4 Summary, file electronically with the CRA, and deliver copies to your employees — all before the deadline, every year.
